Overview

About Sleeve Packaging

A sleeve is a printed band or tube, open at both ends, that slides over something else. It carries the branding and the regulatory copy while the container underneath stays plain.

That separation is the commercial argument. A plain inner tray or box can be bought and stocked once, in volume, while sleeves are printed in shorter runs per variant, per language or per season. Changing a claim on the pack means reprinting sleeves, not scrapping boxes.

Sleeves range from a narrow belly band across the middle of a box to a full-height tube that encloses everything but the ends.

Sleeve height, fit and glue seam are specified against whatever it slides over. The fit matters: too loose and it slides off in transit, too tight and it will not go on without creasing.

Send us the dimensions of the box or tray, or a sample, and we will size the sleeve to it.

Why this packaging

Why choose a sleeve packaging

Stock one box, print many sleeves

Plain inner packaging can be bought in volume while sleeves handle every variant, language and season in short runs.

Cheap to change

A revised claim, a new flavour or a seasonal edition needs a sleeve reprint, not a new box.

Full premium finishing

Because the sleeve is a flat printed sheet before forming, foil, emboss and spot UV are all straightforward.

Manufacturing

Produced at our Ajman facility

Printed flat, finished, die cut and glued into a tube at our Ajman facility. The single glue seam is positioned where it will be least visible on the finished pack.

Fit is verified against a sample of the box or tray it has to slide onto before production runs.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

How tight should a sleeve be?

Snug enough to stay put when the pack is handled, loose enough to slide on without creasing. We size it against a physical sample of the box or tray rather than working from nominal dimensions, because board thickness and any lamination affect the real outside size.

Can a sleeve be used on its own?

For some products, yes — a sleeve around a set of items held together, or around a bottle, works well. Most often it is paired with a tray or box underneath.

What is the difference between a sleeve and a belly band?

Only height. A belly band is a narrow sleeve crossing part of the pack; a full sleeve covers most of its height. They are produced identically.

Do sleeves need their own dieline?

Yes, sized to the pack underneath. It is quick to prepare once we know the exact outside dimensions of what it wraps.
