About Rope Handle Paper Bags

The handle is where paper bags fail. Not the paper, not the base — the point where the handle meets the bag. A rope handle solves this by spreading the load through a knot or crimp that bears against a reinforced turnover rather than pulling on a glued strip.

Cotton rope is softer in the hand and reads as more premium. Polyester is stronger for its diameter and holds colour more consistently. Both can be matched to the artwork.

This is the construction to specify when the bag is carrying bottles, jars, multiple items or anything a customer will walk a distance with.

Manufacturing

Produced at our Ajman facility

Printed and laminated flat, then cut, creased, glued and handled at our Ajman facility. Eyelets and reinforcement are fitted during make-up and handles are attached in house.

We test handle attachment on a loaded sample rather than an empty bag, because that is the only meaningful check.

Cotton or polyester rope?

Cotton feels softer and reads more premium. Polyester is stronger for the same diameter and holds dyed colour more consistently across batches. For heavy loads polyester is the safer specification; for gifting cotton usually wins.

How is the handle attached?

Knotted or crimped through eyelets set into a doubled turnover at the mouth of the bag. The turnover spreads the load across the paper instead of concentrating it at the attachment point.
