Overview

About Shipping Boxes

A shipping box is built for one purpose: getting goods somewhere intact. It is the regular slotted carton — four flaps top and bottom, taped closed — and it is the least glamorous and most useful packaging we make.

The temptation is to buy stock sizes. That is usually a false economy, because a stock box that is bigger than the product means paying for void fill, paying for volume on the freight bill, and accepting more movement inside the box.

Made-to-size cartons cost a little more per unit and often less overall. Where the box will never be seen by an end customer, plain kraft is the sensible specification.

Flute and board grade are specified against the weight carried and how high the cartons will be stacked in storage. Printing can be a single colour for identification or handling marks rather than full branding.

If these are outer cases for retail packs, tell us the retail carton dimensions and how many go in each case, and we will work out the outer size.

Why this packaging

Why choose a shipping boxes

Made to size, not bought to size

A carton sized to the product means less void fill, less movement in transit and lower dimensional weight.

Specified against real conditions

Flute and board are chosen for the weight carried and the stacking height, not applied as a default.

Plain where plain is right

If nobody outside your warehouse will see the box, unprinted kraft is the most economical honest answer.

Manufacturing

Produced at our Ajman facility

Corrugated board is printed where specified, then die cut or slotted and creased at our Ajman facility and supplied flat in bundles.

Where cartons are outer cases, we verify that the retail packs fit the intended count before production.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Should I use stock sizes or custom sizes?

Custom, in most cases. A stock box that is close but not right means paying for void fill and for empty volume on every consignment. The per-unit difference on a made-to-size carton is usually smaller than what it saves in freight.

Do shipping boxes need to be printed?

Not if they are purely for transit. Many customers add a single-colour print for identification, handling marks or a stock code, which costs far less than full colour branding.

What flute should I choose?

It follows the weight and the stacking height. Tell us the filled weight and how the cartons will be stored and we will specify the board rather than defaulting to one grade.

Can you make outer cases for our retail packs?

Yes. Send the retail pack dimensions and how many should fit in each case, and we will design the outer around that count.
