About Kraft Paper Bags

Kraft is strong paper made from long wood fibres, and its strength-to-weight ratio is why it has been the default bag material for a century. Left unbleached it is the familiar brown; bleached it becomes white kraft, which prints more cleanly.

A kraft bag with twisted paper handles is a single-material product. Nothing has to be separated before recycling, which is increasingly the reason customers choose it over a laminated bag.

It also prints well in one or two colours. A single Pantone on natural kraft is one of the most cost-effective pieces of retail branding available, and it looks deliberate rather than cheap.

If recyclability matters to your brand, keep the bag unlaminated with paper handles so it stays a single material. We will tell you if a finish you are considering would compromise that.

One or two Pantone colours on natural kraft is the most cost-effective specification and usually looks better than trying to reproduce full colour on brown paper.

Produced at our Ajman facility

Printed, cut, creased, glued and handled at our Ajman facility. Twisted paper handles are made and fitted in house.

Base reinforcement is specified against the expected load — a bakery bag and a bag carrying jars need different bases even at the same dimensions.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between natural and white kraft?

Natural kraft is unbleached and brown, with the visible fibre texture people associate with recycled and artisanal products. White kraft is bleached, so colours print more accurately and brightly. Natural costs slightly less.

Can full colour be printed on kraft?

It can, but the brown base shifts every colour, so results are muted and unpredictable. One or two Pantone colours almost always look better on natural kraft. White kraft handles full colour properly.

Are kraft bags strong enough for heavy items?

For normal retail loads yes, with the base reinforcement specified correctly. For genuinely heavy items a rope handle bag with a reinforced turnover is the better construction.

Are these bags recyclable?

Unlaminated kraft with paper handles is widely recyclable as a single material. Adding a plastic-film lamination or a synthetic handle changes that, so tell us if recyclability is a requirement.
