Overview

About Product Labels

A product label has to stay stuck, stay legible and stay looking right for the life of the product. Most of that is decided by the stock and adhesive rather than the printing.

Paper stocks are the economical choice for dry retail goods that live on a shelf. Synthetic stocks cost more and handle moisture, refrigeration, oils and constant handling far better, which is why cosmetics and beverages usually end up there.

Shape is the easy part. Die cutting means the label can follow any outline, including internal cut-outs, at no meaningful running cost once the die exists.

Tell us what the label is going on and where the product will be stored. A label on a glass jar in a chiller and a label on a cardboard box on a shelf need different stocks and different adhesives.

Shape is set on the cutting die, so confirm the outline before production.

Why this packaging

Why choose a product labels

The stock decides everything

Whether a label survives depends on matching material and adhesive to the surface and conditions, far more than on the printing.

Any outline you want

Die cutting means a shape that reflects the brand costs the same to run as a rectangle once the die is made.

Matched to the packaging

Producing labels alongside the cartons they go on means brand colour can be checked against one reference rather than two suppliers.

Manufacturing

Produced at our Ajman facility

Labels are printed, finished and die cut at our Ajman facility. Where a label goes onto packaging we are also producing, both are colour checked against the same reference.

Adhesive and stock are confirmed against a sample of the actual container before a production run where the surface is unusual.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Paper or synthetic label stock?

Paper for dry retail products that live on a shelf — it costs less and prints beautifully. Synthetic for anything facing moisture, refrigeration, oils or heavy handling, which covers most cosmetics and beverages.

Can labels be any shape?

Yes, including outlines with internal cut-outs. The shape is set on the cutting die, so it needs to be final before production, but a custom shape does not increase the running cost.

Will the label stick to my container?

That depends on the surface. Smooth glass, textured plastic and coated board all behave differently, and low-energy plastics need a specific adhesive. Send us a sample container if the surface is at all unusual.

Sheets or rolls?

Sheets suit hand application in smaller volumes. Rolls are the right choice for applicator machines or high-volume hand application, since they feed in a consistent order.
