About Magnetic Closure Box
The magnetic closure box is a rigid construction with a lid hinged along the back edge and two magnets set invisibly into the board. The lid pulls itself shut over the last few millimetres, which produces the soft, deliberate close that has made this the default format for premium unboxing.
Structurally it is a wrapped greyboard box: the shell is cut and grooved, the magnets are seated before the wrap goes on, and the printed and finished paper is wrapped over the assembly so no fixings are visible. The result holds its shape permanently and takes an insert easily.
It is the most specified rigid format we make, and also the one where small decisions matter most — magnet strength against lid weight, wrap material against the finish you want, insert depth against the product being held.
Customisation options
Construction, board, print and finishing are all specified per project. If something you need is not listed, ask — most requirements can be produced in house.

Board thickness, wrap material, magnet strength, insert type and ribbon are all specified per project. The wrap can be printed art paper, an uncoated specialty stock, or a coloured paper with foil or embossing as the only decoration.
If the box is going to be shipped rather than handed over in store, tell us — that changes the sensible board thickness and whether the lid needs a stronger magnet.
Why choose a magnetic closure box
The close is the product moment
The magnetic pull over the last few millimetres is what people remember. Few details do more to signal a premium product before it is even seen.
Nothing to assemble
The box arrives formed. Retail and fulfilment staff put the product in and close the lid — there is no erecting step.
Holds an insert cleanly
The rigid shell gives an insert something solid to sit against, so the product stays where it was placed through handling and transit.
Produced at our Ajman facility
Greyboard is cut and grooved so the shell folds square, magnets are seated into the board, and the printed wrap is laminated, finished and wrapped over the assembly by hand. Ribbon and inserts are fitted on the same line before quality control.
All of this happens at our Ajman facility, which is why a wrap sitting slightly proud or a magnet not seating cleanly is caught during the run rather than after delivery.

Frequently asked questions
How strong are the magnets?
Strong enough that the lid closes itself and stays closed in a bag, but not so strong that opening the box feels like a struggle. The right strength depends on lid size and weight, so we specify it against your box rather than fitting one standard magnet to everything.
Can the inside of the box be printed?
Yes. The interior wrap can be a different colour or carry printing, which is often where a message or brand mark is placed so it is revealed as the lid opens.
Do magnetic boxes ship flat?
No — this construction arrives assembled and holds its shape. If flat shipping is a requirement because of storage or freight volume, a collapsible rigid box gives a similar look while folding flat.
What insert should I use?
Paperboard inserts suit most retail products and cost least. Foam is better for heavier or more fragile items, or where the product needs to be gripped rather than rested. Send us the item and we will recommend one.
