About Reverse Tuck End Box
On a reverse tuck end carton the top flap folds in from the rear panel and the bottom flap from the front. Laying the flaps out in opposite directions lets the dieline nest more efficiently on the sheet, so the same carton uses less board than its straight tuck equivalent.
Across a long run that difference is worth having, and it is why RTE is the default for high-volume retail cartons where the front panel does not need to be completely uninterrupted.
It is also marginally quicker to close by hand, because the closing motion alternates rather than repeating from the same side — a small thing that adds up over a packing shift.

Because RTE is usually chosen on cost, it is worth quoting alongside straight tuck at your actual size and quantity — the saving varies with how the dieline nests on the sheet.
Windows, hang holes and partitions are all available and are set on the dieline.

Frequently asked questions
How much does reverse tuck save over straight tuck?
It depends on the carton size and how the dieline nests on the sheet, so there is no single figure. On long runs it is usually a saving worth taking. Ask us to quote both at your size and quantity and the difference will be explicit.
Is the front panel affected?
Slightly. The bottom flap folds in from the front panel, so there is a flap edge at the base of the front face. On most retail cartons it is not noticeable, but if the front is a pure brand surface, straight tuck is the better choice.
Can reverse tuck cartons hold heavy products?
For heavier contents an auto lock bottom is the more appropriate construction, because a tucked base can be pushed open under load. Tell us the weight and we will advise.
Do you supply a dieline?
Yes. We prepare the dieline or check one you already have against the product dimensions before the cutting die is made.
