About Collapsible Rigid Box
A conventional rigid box arrives formed and stays formed, which is excellent for presentation and expensive for storage and freight — you are shipping and warehousing air. A collapsible rigid box solves that. Magnets and hinged panels let the box fold flat, and it snaps into a rigid form in a couple of seconds when needed.
The compromise is that the corners are formed by the folding action rather than being permanently wrapped, so a very close inspection will tell the difference. In practice, at the moment a customer opens it, most cannot.
It is the right choice for brands shipping packaging between locations, running seasonal volumes, or working with limited storage in a retail unit.

Wrap, print and finishing are identical to a fixed rigid box — the difference is entirely structural. Inserts can be supplied fitted or flat for assembly alongside the box.
If your packaging is being shipped to a fulfilment centre before it is used, mention it when you enquire: the freight saving on collapsible construction is often larger than the difference in unit cost.

The board is cut and grooved so the panels fold along defined lines, magnets are seated at the corners and the closure, and the printed wrap is applied across the assembly. Fold and lock behaviour is checked by hand before the run, since a collapsible box that does not snap square is worse than no saving at all.

Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to assemble?
A few seconds once someone has done it twice. The magnets pull the corners into position, so there is no folding sequence to learn and no tape or glue involved.
Does it look the same as a fixed rigid box?
Very close. The wrap, print and finishing are identical. The difference is at the corners, where a collapsible box is formed by folding rather than permanently wrapped — noticeable on close inspection, rarely in use.
Is it as strong as a fixed rigid box?
For presentation and normal handling, yes. For repeated heavy loading a fixed rigid box is the more durable option, because its corners are permanently formed.
Can inserts be used with collapsible boxes?
Yes. Inserts are supplied to drop into the assembled box. Where the insert itself is flat-packable, the whole package stays flat until it is needed.
